4 Awesome Tech Features Available in Modular Homes

It’s common knowledge that smart devices are the new norm in everyday life. There’s a high probability that you’re using one now to read this blog post. With tablets and smartphones gaining popularity, and in some cases becoming necessary in the everyday American lifestyle, we’re stepping up our game when it comes to available upgrades and features in our manufactured homes. Most of our homes can now be equipped to accommodate such devices. Check out my picks for the top 4 tech features Clayton offers: Built-in Power Strip Have you ever had a kitchen appliance that was nowhere close to an electrical outlet? Or possibly multiple pieces of technology at your desk with not enough electrical outlets on the closest wall? If the answer is yes, then you know the struggle of having to go out of your way to simply use an outlet. You could resort to a bulky power strip or extension cord, but typically those can get messy and a bunch of jumbled cords isn’t very...

Prefab Classrooms Create Healthy Learning Environment

Prefab Classrooms Create Healthy Learning Environment

Redmond, WA — Look out the window and imagine children doing the same; setting their sights on clear, focused instruction in environmentally-friendly classrooms. This vision comes clear for almost 400 students in the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) this September. The third fastest growing school district in the Puget Sound region invests in its future generations by going green. LWSD opens 13 new Smart Academic Green Environment (SAGE) classrooms for the 2015-2016 school year. Director of Student Services Forrest Miller says “We are bursting at the seams. The greatest need is a place for students to learn. And, we want students to have spaces they can learn well in.” SAGE Modular Classrooms do not look like stereotypical portable classrooms, and they provide comfort for learning in structures that will last until this year’s kindergartners become grandparents. These classrooms are built to save school districts more than 50 percent of energy costs and the expense of replacing standard modular units twice as often. Prefab Grows as Site Built Costs Climb

Prefab Grows as Site Built Costs Climb

Apartment Pros Cut Time to Market with Prefab Construction. Eviva Midtown, a 118-unit mixed-use community just steps from the California State Capitol, will feature luxury amenities, 5,000 square feet of retail space, and an underground parking garage. The community is scheduled for completion in spring of 2016, or just 18 months after the first shovel of dirt was turned at the site, instead of the 24 months originally estimated. What is the secret to the time-collapse?  Modular construction. All of Eviva’s units will be stacked, one by one, atop the project’s ground-floor retail space. Measuring 12 by 64 feet, and weighing 35,000 pounds each, the “boxes,” as they’re known in modular parlance, will then be stitched together, with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) runs strung between them, until Eviva reaches its full, six-story height. Aside from the building’s stucco façade, once the units are in place, there will be next to nothing left for Moayed’s subs to do. The units, supplied by Boise, Idaho–based Guerdon Modular Buildings, will arrive...

Testimonals from our Clients and Partners Prefab Makes Dream Home Come True Working with US Modular, Inc. has been a great process so far. Abe Ferreira, the CEO, took our project on himself. Water Use Reduction in California Using Modular Construction

Water Use Reduction in California Using Modular Construction

With water use in California at an all time high and facing unprecedented drought conditions, the State Water Resources Control Board plans to adopt water reduction mandates on May 6 to implement Gov. Jerry Brown’s April 1 executive order mandating a 25 percent statewide reduction in water use. That decision is one of several important actions that will impact the San Diego region’s water supplies and conservation targets over the next year. The Water Authority has submitted formal comments to the state board about its proposed framework for water use reductions because the initial draft would undermine investments in water supply reliability projects and harm the state and local economies. In addition, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s board of directors on April 14 approved a 15 percent water supply cutback to the San Diego County Water Authority and its other customers starting July 1. The Water Authority’s Board of Directors will consider establishing fiscal year 2016 water delivery reductions for its 24 member agencies at a special...
